Climate the movie
What do you think of 'Climate, the movie'? I was impressed that pretty much everyone interviewed in the film was an actual scientist, with a lot of them being climate scientists and physicists. That said, the movie has a lot of detractors, including in my own scientific field, and there is someone on X making a petition to ban it for spreading dangerous misinformation. I suppose the whole issue of global warming has become very politicized and as the film posits, accepting the premise that global warming is not caused by CO2 would destroy the current scientific paradigm and political direction, while there is a lot of money invested in it. The film also hints that the current funding system for science is very imperfect and group think leading to faulty conclusions is encouraged. While this may not be the case in less important fields, in a field that is intertwined with politics, like climate science, it matters a lot. If, as many say, Western politics is captured by ideologues that may be smart, but are incompetent, then this bodes badly for whatever results from the union of climate scientists that get this politically tinged funding to promote global warming, and the political system invested in remaking society in some way.
Or it could all be true, I don't know. Here's the link. https://www.climatethemovie.net/

My general position is that on any politically charged topic, it is basically impossible to come to an objective conclusion or even hypothesis without devoting an inordinate of time to studying the question. That said, I tend in these situations to side with the dissenters, because they might just be honest, while those trying to silence them are obviously dishonest.
I think that’s fine but climate nonsense is clearly satanic gaianism
Lol, did you guys actually watch the movie?
Of course not!
No is it good?
Yes, it's a good movie. I recommend it. It's so good, I'm afraid to admit to other scientists in public that I watched it. The problem I personally had with climate science was that I looked into how the models were made 15 years ago (when I still was capable of this). It all seemed very simplistic and the movie covers some of my concerns, but things may have changed since then.
