I just got back from student giving a talk before a campus student group about how Google (!? -- I'll get to that) and other industry "players" have created industry standards for software that greatly simplifies making 3D animations that appear on a Web page. There were 3 Caucasians in the room including the speaker and one other guy who spoke with a foreign accent. There were a couple South Asians and over a dozen East Asians at this event. There were posters on campus publicizing this event. Not . . . one . . . woman . . . showed . . . up, Google.
