Congratulations to the English. Well done.

Watch how Mr. Farage didn't even know the final result of the referendum; but he was already calling not only to leave the EU, but for dismantling the EU and meddling with continental politics. Oh, Englishmen. Will you ever mind your own business.

But anyway, well done.

    • I always say that the British are the perfect Villains. Intelligent and Evil Intelligence they demonstrated once again being smart enough to leave the EU. Evil demonstrated with the British Empire and continue to do so destabilizing some pagan countries in favor or Abrahamic countries

      • Well done, England. Now, do we have a solution to the Scottish Problem, yet? Bring back the Clearances.

        • There's a lovely proposal still on the table from well-known Liberal politician and Churchman Jonathan Swift. It's originally proposed as a solution to the Irish problem, but could just as easily apply to the Scots with a minimum of alterations.

          • Well that's where it gets interesting. Will the EU try to actively lure Scotland out of the UK? Will a new UK government allow a new referendum? Will Cameron do something stupid before he leaves? The possibilities are endless. The more we have this national quibbles to worry about, the less stupid social justice agitation gets press exposure. Just for that Brexit will be worth it.

            • Me, I'm hopeful that the Scots do vote on independence and joining the EU. Scotland is a massive net drain on the English economy; the English will still have good terms for whatever resources they can extract from Scotland (e.g. oil), and an independent Scotland and its ever-increasing woes will be a constant reminder to the English that, "There, but for the grace of God, go I."

              • Scotland is responsible for Labour getting all the seats in parliament it has. If they leave, witness a right wing dominance in England from here on out.

              • It does indeed get interesting. So, that's your bait? I'll bite. Do you believe it likely that Cameron will do something stupid before he leaves? If he meant to something stupid, then why did he resign? Like you, I have never had a very favorable impression of Mr. Cameron. Nevertheless, his behavior seems consistent with the simple explanation that he loves his country and does not believe that carrying on as prime minister would help. This simple explanation may be wrong, of course, but one can consider it. Maybe Mr. Cameron is mortified that he was unable to bring home more extensive concessions from the European Commission several months ago. Maybe he just feels that it's time that someone else had a go at the prime minister's job. Maybe he's thinking, "They all criticize, but being prime minister is not as easy as it looks." Conspiracy theories are fun, but I do not sense a conspiracy here. Do you? Actually, I have no idea what might happen next. If Cameron and Juncker have an idea, they show little sign. Undoubtedly, when we look back on it a year from now, it will all seem quite obvious in retrospect.

                • Well even if there was no conspiracy before the referendum, right now it's the perfect time to come up with a thousand different conspiracies. Already people are calling to ignore or filibuster the referendum result so that the UK doesn't really have to leave. Cameron doesn't strike me as a Clinton, he's not that smart or that ruthless. So he does well in leaving, he's just not the man to leave the UK, nor the man to manipulate his parliament to prevent it from leaving.
