The thing with Divine Revelation is that it is hard to notice. But sensitive people of all stripes can and do notice what is going on. Those with heartened hearts do not see what is happening even if its in front of their noses. But those who understand the ways of the Gods can sense it even thousands of miles away.
The Minister of the Interior (!) of Israel had this to say about the American election. (H/T Vladimir)

Now of course, when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail. To an Orthodox Jew, every hint of Divine Intervention looks like the coming of the Messiah. Different religions saw the Flood or the birth of Jesus in different ways; it's natural that each have their own interpretation. But only one is True. And of course, we all know that what happened on Tuesday was not the Jewish Messiah. It was the prophecy of Kek.
And the works of Kek were done through the phallic avatar we call Anthony Weiner. Who incidentally is Jewish, so perhaps Mr. Deri has a point. But anyway.

Spandrell I don't have a firm grasp of Japanese domestic politics so can you explain to me why Abe seems to be panicking? The election wasn't over but by three days that Abe has already come to kowtow to the Trumpenfuhrer. The dishonest media being what it is is shamelessly spinning this as a deepening of US-Japan security ties but honestly this smacks of an unplanned obeisance ritual made in unseemly haste as a panic response by Abe. Am I misreading the situation or is my intuition correct?

Your intuition is correct. Trump is scrapping TPP, and openly said Japan should go nuclear and stop relying on the US for protection. As much as the local altright likes the idea, the establishment is in utter panic.

having spent some time with kek followers, I wonder if they might have actually stumbled on a remarkably effective way to spread a message and evoke feelings. All of the necessary requirements for a religion for the easily distracted these days.
I only found left wing claims to virtue believable when it seemed that they were going to win and go on winning. When the Khmer Rouge started to genocide themselves, I ceased to find leftist virtue convincing, and have never found it convincing since. Failure and weakness should be viewed as contagious, and should be punished. Yes, the deserving poor should be helped, but most of the poor are the undeserving poor, who mostly need a good whipping. If you read the background story to King Brennus' famous command "Woe to the vanquished", you will realize that in this particular case, the vanquished really had it well and truly coming, and got off lightly.
