Parallels between "wife/gf" guys and "my rapist" women

Posted by ~bidhec-lopwyc on

It's recently been noted that there are strange affinities between wife guys and “my rapist” women. Presented for consideration:

  • Considered cringe in certain quarters not to have one by a certain age, which leads some people to invent theirs out of whole cloth. Hence, “you wouldn't know her, she goes a different school / lives in Canada” or the lacrosse player who belongs to a nonexistent frat.

  • Convenient excuse for not doing things you didn't want to do anyway. Compare: “Sorry guys, can't make it out to the bar tonight. The wife wants me to fold laundry.” vs “Sorry ladies, can't make it out to the club tonight. My rapist will be there.”

  • The most annoying people on 𝕏 talk about their wife / rapist relentlessly.

What other similarities are there?

    • Lmao, good one.

It can be a good hook to get a career in journalism. Or at least some column piece.

      • Michael Graham went to Boston (of all places) after he was fired by WMAL in 2005. He used to call his wife “The Warden”, which I think can be more annoying than effusive praise wife guy stuff
