I made the point in the last post that having smart people on top as a principle doesn't necessarily help things because they might very well be evil. Here Jordan Peterson makes the same point in a more forceful way.

If you can, take a look at the whole thing. I think it's not hyperbole that this is the best interview ever. This guy is good. I think he's got a new religion in his head and he did it all by himself. What a man.
If any of you are reading this: Please, somebody set up a chat between Moldbug and Peterson. It would be epic.

This is the same fellow fighting a battle with University of Toronto over his refusal to use the new legally-required PC terms for transgenders. Interestingly, he has an amazing life history which includes connections to Native tribes wherein he has been assigned the Frog Totem; and he teaches Jungian psychology course with frog symbolisms. kek. And the interview is amazing.
Epic Interview. Pretty much puts the knife into the Genetic Calvinists who equate IQ with goodness. Unfortunately, these types infect much of the Dissident Right. Righteous man.

Like Prof. Peterson, I will be teaching university courses in January. Unlike Peterson, I am adjunct faculty without tenure. I shall be fairly well paid and don't mind the adjunct status (which relieves me of the unwelcome duty to do research), but I keep my mouth shut and never rock the boat, so to speak. Peterson is admirable; I am not, perhaps; yet if I spoke such truth as he speaks, it should cost me more than I can well afford. Jordan Peterson. Good man. Thanks for the video.

Jordan Peterson is a recent find, although I feel like I should have known who he is. Everyone should listen to not only this interview but several of his "debates" with various weirdos on Canadian television talk shows. He shows no mercy, and does it with class.
Jordan could learn a lot from Moldbugs writing and yours about why leftists do the things they do. When says things like Marxism being attractive to intellectuals with compassionate tendencies because it sounds compassionate it is a fairly shallow level of analysis, probably due to an unwillingness to look very deeply at the power dynamics and forces that are really driving the leftist intellectuals. Good on him for taking a public stand against the insanity and risking his academic career. That takes courage.
If somebody wants to invite us both to some podcast I'd be more than happy to go.
On your thoughts regarding our need for a new religion - has anyone read Infinite Jest? David Foster Wallace wrote about how everyone has a need to worship, and that what you worship consumes you. Of course the author later ended up killing himself. He saw into the abyss and blinked.
Some people just don't know how to take it easy. "Consume you"? Come on.
I too recently became aware of Peterson after his appearance on Gad Saad's podcast, and likewise think this Rogan conversation is the best of his recent media appearences. I think he’s got a new religion in his head and he did it all by himself. What a man. The non-normie way to know JP is to read his Maps of Meaning. The rest is watering-down, which he needs to be popular and feel like he's leaving a mark on how things go (and maybe it is or it will be true), but his first book is where he said all he had to say the way it has to be said.
